MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in engineering, political science, law, economics, or environmental sciences or similar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the energy sector.
  • Experience working with or for a variety of clients including MDBs and donors.
  • Understanding of the European energy market, and related regulatory framework (energy acquis).
  • Demonstrate autonomy, teamwork, flexibility, dedication in the assigned duties, and a highly cooperative spirit.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit exhibited through grit and resilience.
  • Extremely deft communicator - listening, empathizing and communicating well with a range of audience types, especially customers and partners and navigating difficult situations to reach win-win solutions and deep, long-term business relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills and commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality deliverables
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Must be able to travel (international field sites), as needed.

VALUED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Oral and written communication skills in German, French or Russian.
  • History of working in the sustainability sectors, with a deep understanding of renewable energy policies and power markets, green hydrogen technologies, auction schemes and power utilities, and just energy transition.
  • Experience with the Eastern European, Western Balkans and/or Egyptian energy sector.
  • Familiarity with quantitative skills, such as data analysis, statistical modeling, or financial analysis.

Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY & JOB PURPOSE:

Tetra Tech has a long history of working in Europe & Eurasia on U.S. government-funded projects and has recently grown its work for European clients including international development and finance institutions, donors, and governments. We are looking for a consultant with proven energy sector experience to assume the role of Energy Sector Sr. Associate, Europe. They will possess sound commercial judgement, experience in business development, stakeholder management, and project management, and strong communication skills, and will have experience in delivering complex projects and initiatives, particularly related to the policy, regulatory and financing frameworks for clean technologies driving the energy and climate transition. The successful candidate will be part of a newly formed team that is tasked with managing, sourcing, and executing energy transition consulting engagements, particularly in relation to the frameworks for clean technologies driving the energy and climate transition.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the delivery and management of a diverse portfolio of Tetra Tech ‘s projects and help execute a business development plan for Europe & Eurasia in line with the overall growth strategy.
  • Support the technical delivery across our projects, particularly in relation to projects on clean energy, decarbonization and alignment of sustainable energy policies with best practices.
  • Support and implement tasks on technical analysis and institutional reforms on clean energy and decarbonization.
  • Interact directly with clients under the supervision of a senior team member, work as part of a team on complex assignment projects.
  • Support in monitoring progress, quality and timeliness of assignments completed by subcontractors according to the timeline and scope.
  • Raise Tetra Tech’s profile in the market through outreach and knowledge sharing on global emerging practices related to the energy transition and evolving technologies.
  • Represent Tetra Tech as a thought leader at conferences, webinars and on social media platforms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
