POSITION SUMMARY:
Position is required to develop suppliers in Quality and Product Safety areas supporting Bendix tier 1 suppliers for braking systems.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Strong knowledge of APQP, VDA 6.3, PSA, IS9000:2000, IATF 16949 and QMPP
- Strong knowledge of statistics
- Strong knowledge of SAP
- Strong knowledge of quality core tools
- Proper application of GD&T
- Problem-solving tools
EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years’ experience in Quality and Supplier Quality Engineering:
- Leading teams
- Managing projects
- Working with manager level at suppliers
- Dealing with confrontation
- Applying problem-solving methods and tools
SKILLS:
- Strong negotiation skills
- Effective communication skills
- Strong statistical and analytical skills
- Strong auditing skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to read GD&T

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor of Engineering
- Master’s degree a plus
- Green Belt certification preferred

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Experience in application of quality and problem-solving methodologies
- Resolve medium impact/complex issues at plant and supplier locations
- Manage suppliers through PAVE
- Coordinate the APQP projects for suppliers (DMI+)
- Define and agree on actions with suppliers to meet PPM targets
- Develop supplier’s systems in all aspects of quality and safety
- Assure agreement for obtainable design/process controls
