LARGE VESSEL - ENGINEER

Qualifications/Requirements/Attributes:

  • Third-Class Engineer Certificate issued by Transport Canada.
  • SCTW Motor Certificate.
  • Strong in sense of responsibility and pride in the overall condition of machinery.
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experienced with Safety Management Systems.
  • Valid Marine Basic First Aid or Advanced First Aid and CPR.
  • Valid Seafarers Medical Certificate.
  • Valid Canadian Passport with the ability to enter the US.
  • A certification in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods will be considered an asset.
  • As per company policy, a clear result of a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • First Aid and CPR.
  • Valid Seafarers Medical Certificate.
  • Valid Canadian Passport with the ability to enter the US.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

As a result of our robust growth, we are adding a Engineer to our team of professionals in our St. George, NB office. This position will report and work directly with the Vessel Captain

PRIMARY DUTIES ARE (NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Safe and economical operations of all machinery on the vessel.
  • Proper maintenance of all machinery on the vessel.
  • Performs troubleshooting, and problem solving as well as preventative and corrective maintenance to prevent downtime and to ensure the efficient and continual functioning of the vessel.
  • Environmental management
  • Monitoring of bunkers and lubricants.
  • Maintain accurate records and other duties as assigned.
