We currently have an opening for a:
MECHANICAL STAFF ENGINEER I this entry level position supports mechanical design and engineering work under the direction of lead engineers. The ideal candidate will perform engineering design activities and calculations for projects. Must have high regard for detail, quality, and productivity. They will work with lead engineers and design staff to solve engineering challenges associated with facility layout, material specification, system sizing (piping, pumps, valves) of the projects.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge in mechanical engineering and design using AutoCAD a PLUS
  • BSME from an accredited college or university required
  • EIT preferred
  • Must demonstrate leadership and organization ability
  • Must be skilled at written and verbal communications in English
  • Able to utilize AutoCAD, MS Office, familiarity with basic fluids and mechanics
  • Must be action oriented, with ethical values and have strong sense of community and teamwork
  • Demonstrate initiative and assertiveness and ability to work well under stress and time pressures
  • Successful in planning and executing in a self-directed, fast paced professional environment
  • Managing time and resources to produce quality results to the satisfaction of clients

Responsibilities:

  • Design and draft piping layouts and equipment diagrams using AutoCAD
  • Work in project teams to assist in preparing design plans and specifications
  • Research specifications as required for the project equipment needs
  • Works directly with more senior design personnel developing project requirements
  • Performs engineering calculations associated with piping, pump and valve sizing under direction of lead engineering staff
  • Perform field survey data gathering service and development of field background data and documentation under the direction of more senior personnel
