Description:
EDUCATION:
Typically requires a university degree, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrate the required skills.
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 or more years of professional experience in Field Service Engineering in Electron Microscopy or similar field is preferred
- Candidates with no experience in a Field Service Engineering with exposure to Electron Microscopy are encouraged to apply
- Experience in ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems is preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Strong technical, analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Able to read and interpret schematics and troubleshoot electrical/electronic systems
- Able to work with and repair mechanical systems
- Able to troubleshoot and resolve PC and software issues
- Able to balance multiple assignments simultaneously
- Able to set priorities and consistently meet deadlines
- Able to work independently or collaboratively within a small team
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Able to deal effectively with customers at all levels
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to travel domestically and internationally often at short notice
- An Australian citizen or permanent resident
- A current driver’s licence
Responsibilities:
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
The successful candidate will install, maintain and repair Thermo Fisher’s range of Electron Microscopes, Focused Ion Beam and Surface Analysis systems while driving customer allegiance through a high-quality customer service experience
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES INCLUDE:
- Install, commission, maintain and repair our range of industry leading products
- Provide training for customers and users on system operation and maintenance
- Cultivate and develop positive working relationships with customers, users and company personnel
- Serve as the company liaison on technical matters for assigned systems and projects
- Complete and submit field service reports
- Provide feedback to product quality teams
- Provide appropriate input in writing updating and correcting documentation
- Act as a subject expert and resource for training
