As a member of the Verizon Global Services team—Quality, Test & Repair organization, the Consulting Engineer, Network Engineering – Hardware Automation Engineer possesses an excellent understanding of engineering fundamentals, experience with automation/robotics, as well as applying knowledge of company policies, industry standards and procedures to assess and analyze system testing & quality performance of hardware automation systems servicing wireless products consisting of 3G/4G/5G Home products, smartphones, tablets, MiFi and modems.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting automated cleaning ecosystem for customer returned products in Verizon’s brand-new fully-automated state-of-the-art Indiana returns center across all supported device models and OEMs.
  • System support includes induction, automated delivery, proper cleaning, and ensuring greater than 95% system uptime.
  • Driving continuous improvement on Units Per Hour (UPH) metrics to ensure optimal product velocity through rapid machine cycle times.
  • Supporting entire ecosystem of Verizon’s automated cleaning systems to ensure greater than 95% uptime including working with the third-party vendors as well as performing daily product audits/reporting to track and drive expected cleaning levels measured against reported grading results.
  • Working with OEMs and Verizon authorized third parties to develop & support software & hardware tools for functional design validation and effectiveness. Candidate will work with our Automation Vendors and 3PL partners to implement these tools in production and will closely monitor Verizon’s quality metrics and KPIs.
  • Participating in initiatives on specific hardware automation design and processes as Verizon continues its transformation into full automation for reverse operations.
