JOB DESCRIPTION:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Computer systems, IT, or a related scientific or technical field or documented equivalent technical training, is required.
  • Bachelor’s degrees or BTech in areas related to computer sciences would an advantage
  • A project management qualification would be advantageous.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 3-8 years of experience in broadcast engineering or related electronics/IT field is required.
  • Experience in working with non-linear editing systems and studio productions will be advantageous.
  • Understanding of Loudness measurement and monitoring
  • Understanding of various video and audio file formats.
  • Understanding of Database principles.
  • Understanding of SD/HD-SDI and IP systems
  • Ability to work across various operating system (Windows, OS X, Linux and Unix)
  • Integration with 3rd Party Products e.g. Telestream for, Medway for File delivery to other Platforms (Omneon, Ardome, VOD)
  • Be able to design and implement file-based media systems workflows
  • Be familiar with Avid Airspeed Installation, configurations and troubleshooting
  • Be able to configure and troubleshoot VLANS on cisco and ARISTA hardware
  • Understanding of various video and audio file formats.
  • Understanding of SQL Database principles.
  • Systems diagram understanding and file-based workflows
  • Knowledge of Video and audio related systems essential Understanding of IT network infrastructure, network switch management and fault-finding.
  • Technical champion on major Project
  • Detailed system diagram Understanding
  • Install and configure Windows Server
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot Avid’s editing systems with AvidNexis and Interplay client software
  • Be familiar with the Avid Nexis Architecture, configuration and troubleshooting
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot interplay engine cluster
  • Working knowledge of SAN and NAS storage networks.
  • Basic understanding of remote editing workflows
  • Be familiar with Virtualized environment e.g VMware

Responsibilities:

To contribute, and assist the Manager and team of Post Production Engineers in maintaining the operational capability of General Entertainment and Media Operations, Broadcasting facilities, including associated MECs in the SMS building, Assist the team(Engineers, Team manager, Management and internal/external clients) in planning, recommending and/or purchase, and installing all technical equipment. Engineer is expected to give technical recommendations in designing, Commissioning and implementing new facilities to improve station operations, and responding to equipment malfunctions or outages any time they occur.
