Description:

Overview:
The PepsiCo Foods North America (PFNA) Process Authority will lead the successful commercialization, qualification and validation of new products and technology, and provide risk assessment, risk management, control and validation requirements to ensure safe stable and legal production of beverages and foods. The position will provide technical support for innovations throughout the stage gate process and be responsible for applying and developing thermal and non-thermal processing parameters for the safety and quality of PepsiCo foods. The selected individual will accomplish this through the effective and efficient collaboration and coordination of a wide array of stakeholders (Process, Product and Packaging Development, Supply Chain, Procurement, Commercialization, Quality and Technical) as they go through the innovation or commercialization process.
Deliver food safety and quality compliance for FS/microbiological risks for PFNA while enabling innovation for newly formed meals innovation platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Food Safety leadership on the principles of thermal processing (together with other non thermal mitigiation approaches, e.g. UV, Ozone, radiofrequency, irradiation, etc.), micro and sanitation strategies for the safe, stable and legal production of product
  • Provides insights through microbiological research studies and method development to inform food safety and quality decision
  • Establish thermal processes through temperature distribution, heat penetration and microbial challenge study.
  • Subject matter expertise driving flawless innovation and in support of product stability and stability issue resolution
  • Subject matter expertise in area of microbiological methods, risk assessments and protocols and representation with regulatory authorities as needed
  • People Capability Build programs across our global organization
  • Insights from horizon scanning that identify emerging industry trends and new technologies, chemistries and processes
