YOUR PROFILE:
Must Have
- Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Aerospace Engineering with 2-5 years of applicable professional experience in satellite engineering and/or operations
- Thorough understanding of overall satellite design, operations, and testing
- Computer software skills, including Python or Matlab
- Ability and willingness to meet the needs of a 24x7 on-call environment
- A valid driver license is essential for on-call support
Nice to Have
- Experience in satellite engineering and/or operations on Thales, Airbus or Boeing GEO or MEO satellites
- Knowledge of space radiation environment
- Ability to travel internationally

Responsibilities:
SES is looking for a Spacecraft Engineer to join the international team operating out of Luxembourg and USA, who are responsible for the health, monitoring and operations of the spacecraft Power and Thermal subsystems across SES’s fleet of GEO and MEO satellites.
Your mission will be to provide engineering support to the full satellite lifecycle: from new satellite procurement through launch, orbit raising operations, on-orbit operations, as well as re-orbit. For this you will be using MATLAB or Python for coding solutions to enhance our spacecraft performance monitoring and analytics toolkits, but also developing a custom skillset and expertise, across a wide technical breadth, to make an impacting contribution to the success of every spacecraft mission.
You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):
- Provide Electrical Power & Thermal expertise to nominal and contingency operations of the satellites
- Provide 24/7 on-call support as part of the team, as well as specialized support to new satellite construction programs, orbit raising operations, and development of the ground products required for satellite operations
- Monitor the Electrical Power & Thermal subsystems to identify degraded performance, anticipate scenarios, and take appropriate action
- Develop and maintain tools for evaluating and trending health to maximize satellite safety, availability, and longevity
- Perform required engineering analyses, modelling of the spacecraft Electrical Power, Thermal subsystems, and Survivability
- Interface with internal and external parties in relation to the responsibilities of the subsystems, such as external Satellite Manufacturers and internal Fleet Development teams
