Description:

Randstad is currently recruiting for an Engineering Design Lead for our clients located in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. This role will give you the opportunity to join an industry leader in tank manufacturing. You will be reporting to a knowledgeable manager and get hands-on training from an expert in the field.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering is essential
  • SolidWorks Certification is essential
  • 5+ years in Heavy Manufacturing (Road/ Transport)- Ideally in the tanker manufacturing industry
  • Aviation experience/petroleum tanker manufacturing experience highly desirable
  • Knowledge of pipework, structural steel, pumping systems, pneumatics, hydraulics and automotive electrics.
  • Have a long-term, growth-focused mindset
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comfortable with client interactions

Responsibilities:

  • Creation and maintenance of 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks software
  • Responsible for providing innovative solutions to suit customer requirements, overseeing projects from start to finish
  • Participation in research and development projects
  • Ensuring clear direction is provided to assist manufacture of product designs
  • Assist in addressing day-to-day technical concerns for Production
  • Undertaking checks to ensure designs are to design specification, and compliant to relevant standards
  • Responsible for maintaining internal and external stakeholder communication on a regular basis
  • Responsible for maintaining communication for all engineering releases, changes and updates to Production and Purchasing departments
  • Keep documentation well organised and filed in compliance with company change control and regulatory compliance
  • Salary up to $130k+ Super depending on experience
  • Flexible working hours and possibility for hybrid working arranagements following probation
