Description:
Position Summary The Engineering Director will be responsible for developing the Engineering and Design Program for semiconductor clients for Arcadis DPS. This is a key position and requires the successful candidate to understand the AE requirements for giga-projects within the German Construction industry. In this position the Engineer Director will drive creation and execution of the program Design and Engineering, Plan of Record, including Scope, Requirements Management, Risk, Success Criteria, Schedule Management, Resources, Quality, for all engineering and design systems. In this position the Engineering director will be responsible for stakeholder management, including coordination of departmental or cross-functional/cross-organizational teams as well as communication within the organization, outward to other internal groups and external customers. The Engineering Director will oversee management of the clients and general contractors project design, driving closure on issues and gaps as well as maintaining focus on continuous improvement by generating an improvement roadmap through the program development. The Engineering Director will be supported by a program implementation team. This team may change throughout the duration of the project. It is expected that the Engineering Director can supply their own team or will have direct authority over the project team provided by the Client.

Education and Experience
- Minimum 15+ years project management experience (managing multidisciplinary design project teams) within the Semiconductor area.
- Previous Engineering Manager/Director position in GC or Semiconductor Client.
- Recognised Senior manager with a strong client network and experience with a large Project Management / Engineering organisation.
- An overall understanding of the design, engineering procurement, and construction management phases associated with delivering large projects.
- Excellent track record of running design and engineering operations and project delivery.
- Knowledge of local based design regulations
- Proven experience in project design management, overseeing the development of project schedules, and a proven track record of managing and delivering design scope within complex programs is required
Essential Skills
- Knowledge of German Construction Industry required.
- Previous experience in managing large construction Programs.
- Previous program management experience of Cap projects more than $400M
- Experienced in leading teams.
- Experience in implementing Continuous improvement project.
- Must be a “team player”. There is a large team on the project and there will be much interface with other members of the team.
- Good communicator both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritise issues
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the consistent and co-ordinated execution of Engineering Systems and Project. Deliverables within the Magdeburg operation with the following responsibilities:
- Co-ordinates with Client engineering to achieve a consistent group execution approach with respect to procedures, work instructions, guidelines, and execution of deliverables.
- Manages and co-ordinates the cross-discipline interactions of the ATG Engineering Operation Department Managers including:
- Participating in hiring of lead engineers across all engineering departments.
- Development and execution of Design and Department technical KPI’s for all engineering disciplines. Supports operations for accurate forecasting and annual budgets for engineering disciplines to meet KPI’s.
- Implementation of roll-out of new engineering software tools and associated training
- Implementation and co-ordination with quality on roll-out of group systems and procedures, work instructions and associated training.
- Co-ordinate with Project Management and Project controls to align engineering systems and procedures with project resourcing and project delivery including Lean Project Execution.
- Manages and co-ordinates operation technical training programme for engineering personnel. This includes engagement with HR on graduate training schemes, CPD, career planning and training budgeting.
- Oversee relevant regulatory compliance on projects for Health, Safety and Environmental requirements. Actively involved in building business offering in EHS.
- Development and management of relevant technical standards and codes within the German Operation to align with Group knowledge management system. Overseas the compliance of engineering deliverables to latest codes and standards. Maintains and budgets for relevant codes and standards to be available to engineers.
- Participates and manages project design delivery technical quality compliance with the Dublin Operation by facilitating necessary design reviews and lessons learned sessions. Manages Lessons learned implementation. Co-ordinates with quality and facilitates internal technical quality audits and close-out of Corrective Actions for disciplines.
