Description:

Salary: £33,966 - £44,263.
If you are looking for a new role where your creativity, communications and customer services skills will be used on a daily basis, consider applying for the Engineering Library Manager position.
You would be joining the established Technology Libraries Team that supports the departments of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology; Computer Science and Technology; and Engineering across two Libraries.
The Engineering Library is based in the heart of the Department of Engineering, and we support all of the academics, students and staff based within. This role is responsible for providing a high quality library service, which includes reader services, staff/student wellbeing, and academic and information literacy teaching. This role also supports the use of the University’s virtual learning environment (Moodle) and lecture capture in the Department. With two libraries as part of the team, the role holder will also have to work closely with our West Hub Manager to coordinate across the service.
You will need experience of developing and delivering library services and training, managing and supporting staff, and building strong relationships with the people you work with. As this is a managing role you will also need to have excellent organisation skills, the ability to work proactively and run projects.
This is a full time post, based primarily at the Engineering Library at Trumpington Street Monday to Friday. There will be frequent visits to our West Cambridge site, where our departments are based, and to our West Hub Library.
We particularly welcome applications from candidates from a BAME background for this vacancy as they are currently under-represented at this level in our institution. Should you wish to have an informal chat about the role, the service or the application process, please contact Emma Etteridge, Technology Librarian at elj26@cam.ac.uk The closing date for applications is Sunday 7th July 2024. Interviews will be held in person, the dates are TBC.
