The Role & What You Will Be Doing
As the Engineering, Maintenance, Utilities & Automation Lead at Viatris Little Island, you will lead, manage and co-ordinate the engineering team on-site to ensure that manufacturing capability and efficiency is optimized in line with Viatris business requirements and values.

  • Provide leadership and direction in project management, maintenance and automation to engineering staff and set standards in line with Viatris corporate requirements and site needs.
  • Act as a senior advisor to site management on all issues relating to change and development where they are likely to be of an engineering consequence/input.
  • Manage cost and expenditure in line with agreed capital and operational budgets taking remedial action as and where appropriate.
  • Establish mechanisms and procedures to ensure that the engineering operation is fully compliant with Viatris procedures, GMP and regulatory requirements.
  • Recruit, retain, motivate and lead the engineering department to ensure it maintains an up-to-date, well-timed resource capable of meeting site needs.
  • Ensure that adequate resources and expertise are deployed to effectively scan new developments/ innovations in the engineering and automation market evaluating their application on-site to enhance Viatris capabilities.
  • Establish and review mechanisms to ensure that all suppliers, consultants and contractors provide a service in line with agreed specifications.
  • Work with other departments on site to ensure an effective preventative maintenance program is established.
  • Participate as a member of the site leadership team to ensure that site objectives are fulfilled in line with long term strategy.
  • Ensure consultation with relevant internal and external personnel regarding the design and installation of new plant and processes with a view to ensuring compliance with all GMP and EHS guidelines and in line with best practices in project management.
  • Ensuring a system is in place for the safe management and execution of projects and routine maintenance on site.
  • Responsible for Water and Energy Conservation for the facility.

About Your Skills & Experience

For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • Third Level Degree qualification in a suitable Engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in chemical processing / in the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Significant supervisory and project management experience.
  • Experience in budgetary responsibility.
