WHAT WE DO

As an Engineering Manager II, you’re going to lead a Berlin-based international team focused on improving the performance, features and design of our core product for healthcare professionals, the BMS (Booking Management System).
Doctolib’s unprecedented growth in the last 10 years was made possible thanks to pragmatism and avoiding premature optimisation at any cost. In order to keep scaling, performance has now become a first-class priority and we sometimes must rethink how key features are architectured. Our team has spent months instrumenting the code base and already improved some of our most important user flows. We’ve also been focusing on re-architecturing the core parts of our availability service. This not only gives us full liberty to choose the more appropriate architecture patterns, but also to choose the stack wisely.

Responsibilities:

You will be both a technical leader and a people manager, coaching and training your team members while building an amazing engineering organization at Doctolib. In this role, you will:

  • Be directly in charge of a team of a team composed by 4-5 software engineers ;
  • Manage and grow the performance and career of your team;
  • Ensure business objectives are met as a team, by driving performance of each team member;
  • Empower your team to build better products;
  • Set the roadmap for your team, and be the end-to-end owner of the team’s production, quality, and delivery;
  • Participate in code reviews and be hands-on if required;
  • Lead cross functional initiatives to up-level our engineering team;
  • Partner with Talent & People teams to recruit, develop and retain talent.
