Description:
VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL PREPARATION:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or a closely related field.
Master’s degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of ten years of related, full-time equivalent experience.

Responsibilities:
Typical tasks for Engineering Manager include the following:
- Establishing, updating, and implementing design policies and standards. Ensure that all Public Utility related projects comply with city, departmental and regulatory agency policies, procedures and standards.
- Administrative work including maintenance of engineering records and plans, processing of daily paperwork including reports, requisitions, and personnel information.
- Gathering and maintaining information to support periodic and special reports documenting activities and events for area of responsibility.
- Supervising, mentoring and training of staff, to include assignment and evaluation of work product.
- Developing and implementing solutions for diverse engineering challenges.
- Assists in updating long-term water and sanitary sewer master plans.
- Developing, controlling, and administering divisional operational and capital improvement budgets including performing cost analysis and projections
