What role you will play?
As an Engineering Manager, you will guide optimisation for our users, utilising your experience in building workloads and pipelines. You will be responsible for stability of our applications and platforms, with an infrastructure focus. You will ensure smooth support to our Data Engineers, who are users of Presto, Airflow, Spark on EKS, Grafana and Prometheus. You will provide guidance and spend time engineering complex application challenges while also being involved in people management, product roadmaps and future strategy. You will anticipate growth in usage of the applications, using metrics effectively to improve the performance and quality of the team, manage capacity and issues and cross team dependencies.

What you offer

  • Expert knowledge of AWS big data applications focusing on infrastructure, with working knowledge of other data tools
  • Experience leading end-to-end agile delivery through separate phases of delivery lifecycle
  • Delivered proof of concept efforts with clear business outcomes and a plan to implement exceptional solutions
  • Some experience in coaching and developing junior engineers
  • Experience in managing incidents with a balance of technical and user communication skills
  • Experience in resolving issues from first alert to fully implements actions from post implementation review
  • Familiarity with Atlassian toolsets (e.g., JIRA and Confluence).
