Description:

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a furniture manufacturer to recruit an Engineering Manager to join their team near Goole.
Salary: £60-70k

Reporting to the Head of Production, the Engineering Manager will manage the department and take responsibility for the efficient maintenance of site engineering services and facilities. Responsible for a team of 7.

Duties & responsibilities of the Engineering Manager include:

  • Evolve engineering capabilities to meet or exceed requirements for cost, quality and responsiveness
  • Ensure that site services are maintained to a high standard in a cost-effective way
  • Review appropriate new technologies and systems
  • Monitor overhead and capital expenditure against defined budgets
  • Liaise with the Head of Production to plan and manage Capital projects
  • Organise suitable safety checks on plant, machinery and facilities
  • Minimise downtime through the provision of adequate spares, planned maintenance regimes and support staff
  • Facilitate continuous improvement and the reduction of all forms of waste
  • Lead, train, motivate and discipline staff
  • Undertake annual appraisal of staff following the procedure currently in place
  • Generate and implement new initiatives that result in continuous improvement
  • Ensure that all areas are kept clean, tidy and well maintained following 5S principles
  • Take a leadership role with manufacturing to adopt TPM Principles

We are keen to speak with Engineering Managers with the following skills/experience:

  • Significant experience in manufacturing management gained in the furniture industry
  • Excellent project and people management skills
  • Organised self-starter, Self-motivated
  • Engineering background
  • Relevant Safety and Management Qualifications
