Salary: London from £73,700 to £110,000

As part of the technology organisation at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), we build and run digital products throughout the organisation. We are passionate about delivering value in a collaborative manner and being an influencer at the heart of the global RegTech and FinTech revolutions driving the digital economy.
We are on an exciting DevOps journey and are seeking an experienced Salesforce Engineering Manager to lead our Salesforce development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Salesforce administration and development, with proven experience managing and mentoring technical teams. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional results.

What you will be doing

  • Lead and manage the Salesforce development team, setting clear objectives and monitoring team performance
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of Salesforce solutions that meet business requirements
  • Ensure best practices are followed in system maintenance, configuration, development, testing, data integrity, and all related processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, design, and implement Salesforce solutions for various business needs
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance in Salesforce technologies, staying updated with the latest developments and features
  • Manage stakeholders’ expectations and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Develop and manage plans, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and high-quality solutions
  • Facilitate continuous improvement and innovation within the Salesforce platform and team processes

The skills and experience you will have
Minimum

  • Extensive hands-on experience with the Salesforce platforms
  • Proficient in Apex, Visualforce, Salesforce Lightning, and other Salesforce technologies. Demonstrable experience with Salesforce configuration, custom development, and deployment
  • Must hold Salesforce Administrator certification. Additional certifications such as Salesforce Platform Developer I/II, Salesforce Advanced Administrator, or other relevant credentials are highly desirable

Essential

  • Experience in a leadership role managing technical teams
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams of technical professionals including those from third party suppliers. Experience in setting goals, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrable experience managing end-to-end technology delivery, including requirement gathering, planning, execution, and deployment
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding of business processes and how to align Salesforce solutions with business goals. Ability to translate complex business requirements into effective Salesforce solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven experience in managing stakeholder expectations, negotiating solutions, and maintaining productive working relationships
  • Experience managing and directing resources from third party suppliers
