Description:

Job Objective: The Engineering Manager is responsible for all engineering design, documentation and technical support for the division. The objective of this position is to leverage all Engineering resources to enable the accomplishment of the business’ strategic objectives and tactical goals. This person is accountable for determining and managing the planning, staffing, and funding requirements of their organisation. Simultaneously, they will work with the leaders of other business functions, in support of the strategic objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties requested by management.

  • Coordinating and managing all engineering disciplines
  • 3D modeling and drawing creation for all products provided
  • Customer interface with Engineering & Procurement Companies (EPC) and end users
  • On-going troubleshooting with OEM install base & provide technical assistance and guidance to field service and installation teams
  • Create and manage all technical documents including but not limited to: OEM equipment manuals, Technical bulletins, Electrical Certifications, Customer drawings, Production/shop drawings, Functional Acceptance Testing parameters
  • Manage “Engineering Change Request” process and documentation per ISO 9001 requirements
  • Manage Engineering Work Ticket submissions
  • Electrical design and certification for: Hazardous Locations, IECEx, ATEX, Nema 7, Inmetro, Peso, CSA and others
  • General industry classifications and declarations: Nema 4, CE, and others
  • Design and support of new product development
  • Support of Projects team for all technical clarifications and drawings
  • Sourcing new and replacement components after evaluating form, fit and function
  • Managing Bill of Materials and ERP functions to support manufacturing and production
  • Support production team for all builds through drawings, shop support, troubleshooting, technical clarifications, hands on assembly
  • Adhere to ISO and other procedural policies that impact products and certifications
  • Hiring, training and developing engineering skills for the engineering team as well as training for sales, production, procurement and other departments as needed
  • Maintain vendor relationships for technical components and scoping optionality for parts

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Minimum education required— Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related & relevant work experience.
  • 5-10 years of mechanical design and / or electrical design
  • 3-5 years as Engineering Manager or other leadership positions.
  • Expertise in hazardous location certification, hydraulics, electronics, PLCs, instrumentation, 3D and CAD modeling, mechanical skid design, ISO & Quality Management Systems
  • ERP management of manufacturing process (SAP, SAGE, IFS, NetSuite, etc)
  • Hands on experience in assembly and manufacturing preferred.
  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Above-average verbal/written communication skills.
  • Must have a high degree of patience to address issues as they arise
  • Capable of analyzing issues and developing solutions
  • Ability to be creative and innovative
  • Judgment and decision-making ability
  • Listening skills
  • Organization and time management skills
