A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR DAY

As an Engineering Manager for the Secondary Engineering Team at Siemens Energy in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, GB, your role will be to lead a diverse team of more than 20 junior through to experienced engineers. You will be responsible for designing, testing, and deploying complex protection solutions for UK transmission operator substations, offshore renewable generation grid connection designs, and developing new solutions for future battery storage and hydrogen production. With the market expanding, your focus will be on growing and developing the team, collaborating with external partners to enhance delivery flexibility, and targeting new and existing customers with the latest technology solutions.

YOUR SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Reporting to the Head of Control and Protection for the UK and Ireland, you will bring the following skills and qualifications to the role:

  • University degree in electrical engineering or other relevant qualification
  • Extensive knowledge of control and protection engineering with a variety of UK power industry customers
  • Excellent knowledge of technology, product roadmap, and value engineering
  • Good working knowledge of UK client approval processes including type registration, ENA, and equipment approval
  • Fluent English mandatory (spoken and written)
  • Excellent team skills, initiative, and customer orientation
