ABOUT YOU (DESIRED)

• Technical
• For this specific role we are looking for an Engineering Manager that:
• TechnicalHas past experience as an Individual Contributor (IC) and can empathise with Engineers. Has the ability as well as help make the right call on complex architectural problems we encounter as we grow.

People Management

• Can inspire and lead multiple cross-functional squads of engineers to achieve a common goal.

• Has experience growing individuals and managing performance issues.

Delivery Management

• Can show a track record of developing high-performing teams.

• Can be ultimately responsible for delivery.

App & Growth Specific

• Has experience in managing App-based teams. Either as a past Mobile IC or having managed app-based teams.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the challenges of mobile engineering.
• Has experience in growth projects. Either delivering initial MVPs, growing to a successful product or managing step-changing growth in an established area.

In the UK, we are currently focused on scaling our products exponentially. Our primary objective is to develop a groundbreaking direct-to-consumer proposition that empowers customers to effortlessly apply for and manage all our products within a single app. This ambitious endeavour entails creating innovative features and seamlessly integrating them with our existing systems in the UK, ultimately delivering a cohesive and exceptional user experience across our entire product range.
To accomplish this, we are seeking an experienced, intelligent, and analytical individual to join us as an Engineering Manager (EM). As the EM, you will report to the VP of Engineering (UK) and assume day-to-day ownership of the new product vertical , working closely with the Product Manager to drive its success.
You will be expected to manage two squads of engineers of varying seniority levels and skills including backend and frontend. The frontend engineers are using React Native to deliver cross-platform mobile apps and the backend are pioneering Kotlin within the organisation.
