Boeing Commercial Airplanes’ (BCA) Commercial Derivatives Systems and Safety integration is seeking an Engineering Manager (Level K) to join our team to manage a diverse and talented team of engineers who are using an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to develop integrated solutions to cross-functional technical issues to enhance and ensure consistent application of development assurance and systems engineering processes, training, and controls across the portfolio of BCA products. This position will be located in Everett, Washington.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 1+ years of experience in leading or managing an engineering team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Proven ability to embrace change, lead continuous improvement, and treat safety and quality as top priorities.
- Systems and development program experience.
- Flexibility, adaptability and comfortable with a variable work statement.
- Must be a self-starter, adept at leading projects and influencing people across multiple organizations.
- Fosters a healthy, creative and productive team environment.
- Experience leading complex projects.
- Willingness and ability to manage ambiguity and turn it into action.
- Training development and deployment experience.
- Agile workflow management experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manages and provides oversight to a team working across organizations to develop and/or update Systems Engineering processes documentation to enhance systems engineering and software quality.
- Oversees systems engineering support to product development and airplane programs across BCA, including supporting development of tactical development assurance deliverables and artifacts.
- Works across programs and organizations to inculcate best development assurance practices.
- Manages, develops, motivates employees.
- Acquires resources for projects and processes and leads process improvements.
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes and provides technical guidance to resolve engineering issues.
- Occasionally need to travel.
