Responsibilities:

WHAT’S THE ROLE?

The Engineering Operations Centre Lead is accountable for the Engineering Operations Centre (EOC). Through effective leadership, they empower their team to lead the Engineering Operation and effective management of all construction work at Gatwick. The Engineering Operations Centre Lead is also pivotal in engagement across various internal and external stakeholders to effectively plan Engineering’s response to disruption events at the airport.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING?

  • Management of the Engineering Operations Managers and team that reports into them.
  • Lead the Operational relationship with UKPNS, working alongside the Electrical Duty Holder.
  • Manages and authorises safe systems of work and contractor management systems.
  • Responsible for the permit to work system and all hazardous activities at Gatwick to ensure they are appropriately permitted and controlled.
  • Author or reviewer of Gatwick’s Safe Systems or Work and SOPs relating to hazardous activities at Gatwick (including hot works, confined spaces etc.)
  • Budget accountability of circa £1m.
  • Accountable for continuous improvement and change management at the Engineering Operations Centre.
