Position: Engineering Summer Student
Primary Location: Fort Saskatchewan, AB
Schedule: Full time, hourly, on site
Reports To: Plant Manager
Compensation: $25 - $30 per hour. Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. About This Role and About You
This position is directly involved in assisting the engineering team at the Fort Saskatchewan plant with their daily activities. The primary focus of the position will be to assist in the implementation of a computerized management system. Students will gain hands on experience while working with the Dalhousie team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in a Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technician program
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently
  • Able to read Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

Responsibilities:

  • To assist the plant Operations, Maintenance and Engineering Departments on the management and control of changes to processes and equipment.
  • To provide technical assistance to Operations and Maintenance Departments under the direction of the Process
  • To perform engineering assignments as required to maintain and upgrade plant equipment and facility, reduce costs and support a safe, environmentally sound operation.
