Description:

Braemac is looking for an Engineering Technician to be part of our close-knit team in Alexandria, NSW. In this role you will support our customers with the service, repair, overhaul and warranty of the equipment we distribute and maintain. If you are keen to apply your mechanical and electrical skills and want to get exposure to the rail and transportation industry, then this is the role for you. ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assessment of products and locates sources of problems by observing electro-mechanical devices in operation.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests feedback and report to the internal Team.
  • Dismantles equipment and removes/replaces defective parts.
  • Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
  • Replaces the parts out of specification or to customer requirements.
  • Test and qualify compliance to OEM specifications.
  • Maintains machinery, electronic and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
  • Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
  • Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Assist in solving mechanical or electronics problems involved in the operation of products.
  • Assists engineers with fabricating and assembling electronics subassemblies for prototype models from schematics, rough sketches, and verbal instructions.
  • Troubleshoot the product to determine cause and remedy for malfunctions.
  • Requires ability to use practical electronic theory, basic machine tools, and work from schematics and rough sketches.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

One to three years’ experience in a testing environment preferred.
Diploma of Engineering or similar field preferred.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Analytical and structured approach.
  • Ability to read and interpret work and technical instructions and schematic drawings.
  • Capacity to diagnose issues using diagnostic tools and specialised equipment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Fitter Trade certificate is useful.
  • Mechanic certificate is useful.
  • Electrician certificate is useful.
