Description:

We are looking for an Engineering Technician, on a temporary basis (with eventually an option on a fixed contract), in order to reinforce our team during a few months.
As our Engineering Technician, you will work the engineering team and contribute to the development of miDiagnostics’ state-of-the-art molecular diagnostics products.

Your responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Building prototypes designed by our engineers in our workshops using our in-house 3D-printers,CNC-machine, laser cutter, soldering stations, …;
  • Contributing to the prototype design to make it more manufacturable by giving feedback on and adapting 2D and 3D computer aided design files for easier manufacturing;
  • Build experimental setups that use several technologies, such as mechanics, fluidics, electronics, magnetics;
  • Under guidance of our engineers, perform experiments to proof the technical feasibility of our concepts and verify our designs;
  • Further professionalize our technical workshops and keep them tidy;
  • Report and present progress and achievements.
  • Bachelor in a technical/engineering domain or equivalent by experience;
  • Passionate about making new things hands-on;
  • A maker that can work independently in our workshops and labs;
  • Eager to learn and optimize our 3D-printing and CNC-milling prototyping processes;
  • While not strictly required, the ideal candidate has prior experience with 3D printing and/or CNC machining;
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal);
  • Pragmatic problem solver;
  • Team player;
  • Good organizational skills: you can get things done;
  • Our offices are in Leuven (Belgium). You need to be entitled to live and work in Belgium.
