Comms Design Ltd is a cutting-edge engineering design and manufacturing company that specialises in electronic product development. Our expertise extends to a range of capabilities, including embedded and application software development, mechanical engineering design, electronic hardware design, state-of-the-art radio coverage planning and simulation, training, support and maintenance, end to end product development.
We are now looking to recruit an Engineering Technician to join our busy team in Harrogate. As an Engineering Technician, you will support the wider Engineering team by carrying out product assembly, product repair and routine maintenance on products/equipment.
Key roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to;
-

Coordinating and conducting the testing of key product circuit boards as they are delivered from suppliers.

  • Modular batch assembly of the current Comms Design product line to meet customer orders and future projects.
  • Completion of product testing following successful assembly in line with test documentation.
  • Participating in formal testing, including factory and site acceptance testing of products.
  • Maintaining a stock register of key product components and reporting deficiencies to the Operations Manager.
  • Conducting periodic reviews of key components for obsolescence and reporting any issues upwards.
  • Carry out routine scheduled servicing of a wide range of radio products in line with the company servicing schedule.
  • Maintaining the radio products servicing register.
  • Conducting the repair of returned equipment from customers in line with the Service Level Agreement.
  • Participating in weekly team administration and engineering meetings.
  • Maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, supportive work environment.
  • Interacting with the Engineering Team, Operations Manager and Project Manager.
  • Liaising with the Project Manager to estimate development schedules and reporting on progress.

The successful candidate will be qualified to HNC/HNC/City & Guilds or equivalent in an engineering related subject, and will have experience of electrical and electronic components including assembly of products containing electronics, with the flexiility and adaptability to learn. You will have good problem solving skills and excellent communication skills.
