Description:

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in engineering technology or similar is required
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Interest in hands on work is strongly recommended
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is considered an asset
  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer programs
  • Strong analytical thinker, skilled at continuous improvement
  • Experience using drafting software such as CAD is considered an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating existing manufacturing processes and identifying areas for improvements in safety, quality and efficiency.
  • Leading teams in troubleshooting and problem-solving issues with production / maintenance personnel and Engineering Department.
  • Managing plant projects relating to continuous improvement, equipment reliability and facility upgrades.
  • Leading and participating in various LSS events from 5S projects to A3s.
  • Responsible for all aspects of projects from development to completion, including procurement and contractor supervision.
  • Responsible for ensuring projects are executed safely and in compliance with local regulations and company policies.
  • Performing other duties as required by management
