Description:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires a High School Diploma and at least two years of college credits towards and engineering degree.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Able to follow through on tasks.
  • Moderate computer skills, including communicating internally and externally via email.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists engineers and fabricators with custom design of industrial machinery, particularly hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems
  • Identifies and selects the best components for each application.
  • Hands-on training of mechanical fabrication techniques and electrical wiring by experienced fabricators
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD), both 2D and 3D drawings, piping schematics, electrical schematics, general-arrangement, and production layout drawings
  • Work closely with Motion’s field sales personnel to assist in design and component selection
  • Navigate technical data on the Internet for component supplier’s information and present this to the sales force and customers
  • Put together complete production bill-of-materials for the procurement of parts to build custom power units, valve manifolds, panels, and small to large pump/filter/cooler skids for hydraulic and lube oil fluids
  • Technical writing and functional explanations of how components work and are integrated into industrial machinery (presentations, emails, drawings, etc.)
  • Involves gaining knowledge of common machinery, how factories are designed and operated, and analysis of machine performance and troubleshooting
  • Gains field sales experience and learns fabrication techniques for modern industrial machinery, and to see factories in operation are part of the experience working at Motion; may require travel
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
