Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We are looking for a qualified English Tutor for a permanent, full-time position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assessment on the English levels of the students whose first language is not English, and develop teaching plans and targets accordingly
  • Classroom English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESCOL) teaching as required
  • Creating an effective and challenging learning environment and utilizing a variety of teaching techniques(eg. Group-work, lectures, discussions, power point, fieldwork)
  • Preparation of course outlines and learning program plans which meet internal quality assurance requirements
  • Producing teaching materials, and improving and adapting existing materials
  • Marketing of tests, assessments and other assessments and reporting of student results
  • Ensuring that all teaching materials, assessments and student record data are made available to the institute for filing and centralization
  • Analyzing and reporting the student’s progress, and communicating with other teachers and student’s parents about the progress form time to time where necessarily.
  • Assisting with institute’s administrative duties relating to NZQA and other compliance issues
