We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Enterprise Architect to join our IT team in Langley, BC.
Reporting to the Director, IT Strategy and Planning, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the strategic direction of the organization by aligning business objectives with IT capabilities. You will analyze industry trends and disruptions, assess their impact on business outcomes, and develop actionable plans to drive innovation and growth. With a focus on enterprise architecture, you will facilitate alignment between business and IT strategies, ensuring that technology investments support the organization’s goals.

You will be responsible for:

  • Formulating strategies and plans to align with Pattison Food Group Ltd. business priorities, encompassing the modernization, rationalization, and decommissioning of technology.
  • Collaborating with infrastructure and development teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and identifying opportunities for modification when necessary.
  • Establishing and applying minimal viable architectures through the EA governance model, guided by business strategy and corporate governance, in support of agile decision-making.
  • Providing practical advice and best practices to take advantage of new, or emerging, opportunities and successfully deliver the expected business outcomes.
  • Assessing disruptive forces affecting the organization and identifying technology-enabled innovation opportunities that enable business strategy.
  • Overseeing the design and integration of complex IT systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security across all architectural layers.
  • Presenting gap analyses and/or IT investment roadmaps that reflect the status of the existing IT landscape, namely, its ability to contribute to future-state business capabilities around ecosystems and digital platforms.
  • Conducting peer reviews of architectures-in-development and give feedback to other technical teams productively and constructively.
  • Building the EA value proposition; contributing to positioning the EA practice as an internal advisory; offering services and skills to support the development and execution of business strategy.
  • Coaching and mentoring peers and stakeholders to foster architectural thinking.

You have:

  • An undergraduate or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or business. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 10+ years’ experience as an Application, Technical, Data and/or Solution architect
  • 5+ years’ experience as an Enterprise Architect
  • Industry-recognized certifications such as TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) and/or Zachman Framework for Enterprise Architecture. SAFe or Agile certifications is an asset.
  • Experience leading large scale, long-term enterprise project implementation.
  • A Proven track record of leading successful enterprise architecture initiatives from conception to implementation, with a strong emphasis on delivering tangible business value.
  • Experience in the retail industry is an asset.

This position is based at the Pattison Food Group office in Langley, B.C. While we’re currently operating with a hybrid work-from-home and in-office schedule, we look forward to the day when we are all able to work together in the office again.
