Description:

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Data Architecture experience in a modern, secure, and highly integrated cloud-based solutions environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of data modeling principles and methodologies to ensure that data models are efficient, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with the organization’s goals.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure data services (eg. Synapse, Fabric, Data Factory) and base Azure services would be beneficial.
  • Functional proficiency with Powershell, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, Apache Spark, SQL or similar for execution of proof-of-concepts.
  • Experience with AI/Machine learning products (Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI Service, Mistral, etc).
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, storytelling and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively balance multiple stakeholder expectations, contribute to a team of experienced technical specialists in a dynamic, time-sensitive, and fluid environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver to a plan, including reporting on delivery and performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, high-trust relationships with key stakeholders including business leaders, colleagues in IT, and partners.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar data architecture role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
  • Experience with cloud-based SaaS and PaaS technologies and systems used for real estate investment, development and management would be beneficial.
  • Azure data related certifications are an asset.

Responsibilities:

ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a versatile Enterprise Data Architect with a customer-obsessed, delivery mindset who will be responsible for helping achieve optimal outcomes from technology and design decisions.
The role is responsible for working with a variety of business and IT clients to provide assessments, designs and advice as necessary in a lean, value-driven organization. This includes working with third party vendors to extract necessary information and advocate for changes where necessary, understanding trade-offs of solution designs and being able to identify risks in designs or service level offerings. The Enterprise Data Architect will have experience with fully cloud based data architectures with a strong preference for experience with Azure solutions such as Synapse, Azure Data Factory and Fabric.
The successful candidate will support the Director, Enterprise Architecture to mature QuadReal’s data-based AI capabilities, and will help unlock value through data-driven explainability.
The successful candidate will roll up his / her sleeves to engage with stakeholders, understand needs and opportunities, design and review solutions, create frameworks and templates, and review peer deliverables.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver a variety of data-related architecture services with high quality to stakeholders, including future-state architecture designs, product assessments, technical summaries and roadmaps.
  • Perform technical analysis of vendor offerings related to data strategy and convey assessment to stakeholders in business terms with risks, impacts and mitigating strategies.
  • Cultivate positive working relationships with various stakeholder groups across the business and IT functions.
  • Ensure that expectations including timelines, scope and other aspects are communicated effectively for deliverables to stakeholders.
  • Ensure architecture standards and guidelines are consistently followed by projects.
  • Ensure relevant architecture designs and artefacts are created, reviewed and approved by projects.
  • Ensure appropriate hand-off of solutions to operations, and relevant documentation is updated as appropriate.
  • Ensure architecture-related templates, guidelines and deliverables are kept up-to-date.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to maintain knowledge of prevalent and emerging technologies.
  • Assist with modernizing and maintaining EA communication channels (e.g. SharePoint site) and collaboration workspaces.
  • Contribute to the innovation process (idea generation, capture, triage, prioritization and delivery) and assist stakeholders with innovation initiatives.
  • Perform configuration, coding and testing as required to support innovation prototypes and proof-of-concepts.
  • Ensure timely, successful execution of experiments and prototypes.
  • Work collaboratively with external partnerships that may support or accelerate QuadReal’s innovation efforts.
  • Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business requirements.
  • Design and implement data warehouse solutions to enable reporting, analytics, and decision-making processes.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary documenting data structures, standards, and governance policies.
