ESSENTIAL BUSINESS EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar environment.
  • Degree level in a related subject, or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills are necessary to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • The ability to troubleshoot complex issues and think critically to find effective solutions.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows Server environments, including understanding of core services like Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Understanding of security protocols, data protection laws, and compliance requirements specific to the insurance industry, ensuring that all systems adhere to these standards.
  • A solid understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing protocols, to manage network-related configurations and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Knowledge of VMware virtualisation solutions to create and manage virtual machines, ensuring efficient resource utilisation and system scalability.
  • Skills in configuring and managing Internet Information Services (IIS) for hosting websites and web applications.

Responsibilities:

ROLE VALUE PROPOSITION:

As a member of the Global Infrastructure team, your role is centered on the UK and Ireland, providing pivotal support to our business operations and functions across Brighton, London, Dublin, and Galway. Tasked with delivering expert engineering support, and guidance to the broader IT teams within these locations. You will be responsible for the production support and maintenance of systems and applications that support the businesses across the UK&I.
This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the stability and availability of the critical applications and processes supporting the various areas of the business. Working as part of an engineering team looking after the implementation of change on behalf of the business, support of critical systems and local infrastructure, remediation of vulnerabilities and threats to the MetLife environment, and the fulfilment of requests and escalated support tickets from the service desk.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide day-to-day support of the Active Directory, Citrix, contact centre systems, and remotely hosted server environments.
  • Participate in and support business-driven projects, addressing requirements specific to EB, IP, Investments, and Digital Hub functions.
  • Play an integral role in the implementation and support of strategic plans, crucial for the growth and development of the UK business.
  • Work in close collaboration with the wider IT team to provide engineering support and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Contribute to the implementation and support of AIOps to automate IT operations, utilising artificial intelligence to analyse data, predict issues, and streamline workflows for enhanced efficiency and proactive problem resolution.
  • Regularly assess the performance and health of IT systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Set up and manage alerts to notify of any system irregularities or failures.
  • Collect and analyse performance metrics to identify trends and potential issues.
