Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking to hire an Electrical Engineer in our Detroit, MI office
This position is expected to begin in June 2024.
Understanding this is an entry-level position, it will be expected for the recent grad to have interest in learning the responsibilities of the position, which include, but are not limited to:
+ Prepare design drawings and documents, technical specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and studies associated with power system.
+ Prepare one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, and writing of substation equipment specifications.
+ Learn to exercise of judgment on details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
+ Learn to communicate well with others and support business development opportunities.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc.).
  • Experience in traction power or railroad design.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally to all AECOM, partner, and client office locations, including project offices, if applicable.
  • Ability to perform site investigations and walk-downs in high-voltage substations and along electrified railroads.
  • Interest/experience with Power System Design.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering certification (FE) preferred or willingness to obtain the certification within 1 years of hiring date.
  • Possess the ability or have the willingness to learn how to utilize CAD/BIM software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, etc.).

  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $ 55029.50 - $ 96301.63 /yr .
