The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization, Maritime and Intelligence Systems (M&IS) Division is seeking an Entry-Level STE Engineer (Level 1) to join our Special Test Equipment (STE) Engineering team in Huntsville, AL. Our team focuses on delivering complex solutions in some of the most challenging environments on Earth. We provide support for our Mission Operations Portfolio area which design, build, test, deploy, operate, and maintain a wide variety of mission critical platforms and systems for commercial and government customers. POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Entry-Level STE Engineer will be a part of a high-performing team. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic working group. This role will include hands-on experience with hardware and troubleshooting.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- 1 year or more of experience with troubleshooting hardware.
- 1 year or more of experience with troubleshooting software.
TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with the development and documentation of electronic and electrical system requirements.
- Develops or modifies basic hardware and software designs based on defined requirements.
- Performs system tests to verify operational and functional requirements.
- Assists in monitoring suppliers’ performance to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Supports resolution of product integration issues and production anomalies.
- Researches basic technologies for potential application to company business needs.
