We are looking for a team-oriented and client-focused Storm Water Program Environmental or Civil Engineer in Honolulu, Hawaii, to primarily support our storm water technical program and other water and wastewater projects in Hawaii.
Our storm water technical program delivers our clients’ technical initiatives focused on topics related to storm water quality and environmental compliance. The program includes consulting with and developing technical resources relevant for practicing engineers, architects, planners, project managers, civil services, and municipal maintenance personnel and contractors.

This role will involve frequent interfacing and communicating with Jacobs teammates and clients’ staff. As part of a local and global team working together toward our overall shared goal of protecting our receiving streams, oceans, and environment, the successful candidate will:

  • Contribute to the development of effective and engaging technical resources, tools, websites, and online educational materials
  • Develop technical and e-learning content on complex technical and regulatory topics
  • Tailor content as appropriate for the respective client staff groups and learner personas, including engineers, architects, planners, project managers, civil services, and municipal maintenance personnel and contractors
  • Write machine audio scripts
  • Develop assessment scenarios for engineers and technical professionals
  • Verify accuracy
  • Develop concepts for visuals
  • Provide technical content reviews
  • Facilitate internal and client review calls and discussions
  • Coordinate with e-learning and animation development team colleagues, locally in Honolulu, and in mainland US, Poland, and/or elsewhere around the world as needed for the projects

The base salary range for this position is $59,800 to $93,450 for entry level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • BS in Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Tools, including Excel, Teams, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, Word
  • Minimum 0-2 years’ experience

Ideally you’ll also have:

  • Storm Water, Water Quality, Environmental or Green Storm Water Infrastructure Interest and/or Background
  • Communications emphasis or minor
  • Instructional Design Interest or Background
  • Active Involvement in one or more professional organizations
