Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Strategic Approvals Manager, your role as the Environment Approvals Lead will be focussed on the delivery of primary approvals to enable exploration and production activities. You will have a contemporary working understanding of relevant legislative requirements. You will support the identification, development and implementation of improvements, including influencing changes to regulatory frameworks. You will be a champion for continuous improvement in the development of effective internal processes that are outcomes focussed and fit for purpose.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the identification and delivery of primary approvals (such as Coordinator General, Commonwealth and State approvals) required for exploration and production activities in accordance with project schedules
- Steward the internal business process as they relate to securing external and internal approvals to ensure they are robust, fit-for-purpose and cost effective
- Identify and influence internal practices and regulatory reform to achieve IG business value (for example, to reduce environmental approvals timeframes, and drive simplification, standardisation and efficiency in meeting environmental approvals requirements)
- Ensure environmental approvals portfolio risks and controls (including access delivery risks) are reviewed, updated and documented
- Liaise with key environmental regulators and other external stakeholders to achieve environmental approvals portfolio objectives
