Interacting directly with all development teams in our worldwide organization ensuring the use of compliant materials and components? Do you want a broad network reaching across GN Hearing and also externally to suppliers and partners?
In the role as Environmental Compliance Engineer you will contribute to our purpose of Bringing People Closer. GN is constantly working on ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. In the role as Environmental Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for this process.
The Team you will be part of
You will be part of the Materials and Reliability team of technical experts. In the team We see ourselves as an important player in the selection and qualification of safe, efficient, and compliant materials for our product offerings.

Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:

  • Work across functions
  • Get an opportunity to make your own fingerprint on future process of environmental ensuring compliance for GN’s product offerings.

More specifically, you will:

  • Monitor new developments in environmental regulations and adapt our compliance process accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance of our products with authority requirements regarding protection of the environment against hazardous substances, i.e. RoHS 3 and REACH
  • Work with our regulatory functions on the interpretation of the environmental requirements and guide the organization on CLP, EU REACH, EU RoHS legislation, but also other country regulations, such as Chinese Materials regulations, California Proposition 65, Materials Part of Battery regulation, Conflict Mineral Regulations, etc.
  • Participate in the hearing aid industry cooperation on responses to proposed changes to regulations of materials.
  • Manage our due diligence process to ensure responsible sourcing of in cooperation with third party providers.
  • Together with the regulatory functions you document compliance of our products in our PDM system.

To succeed in the role, we imagine that you have:

  • A B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials Science, Materials Technology, Electronics, Mechanics, Sustainability or other relevant educational background
  • Experience with environmental compliance (RoHS directive and REACH regulation)
  • You have been trained in compliance with the RoHS directive and REACH regulation
  • You are effective and pragmatic and tend to see more solutions than obstacles
  • Your analytical skills will become very useful in working with Bill of Materials in our PDM system and in reviewing compliance of material information from our suppliers
  • You speak, read and write English fluently – other language skills are an advantage
  • It is an advantage if you have experience with Conflict Minerals
