If you are looking for a challenge in a team-oriented, friendly and respectful work environment on a growing team, we would love to hear from you. As an Environmental Consultant/Professional, you will work in collaboration with the environment team and your main responsibilities will be:

  • Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules.
  • Assisting Project Managers, Engineers and Geo-scientists in fulfilling multi-disciplinary environmental, geosciences, remediation, groundwater, and soil-related projects.
  • Collecting field samples and preparing laboratory samples as directed.
  • Recording test data and preparing factual reports, summaries, data-sheets, or graphs to interpret test results by the supervisor.
  • Maintaining records of the database, calibration certificates, equipment manuals and applicable standards.
  • Consistently executing prescribed technical procedures, safe work practices and work plans while completing the field, laboratory, and office work.
  • Ensuring environmental management, planning and regulatory compliance.
  • Participating in project management, site and staff planning meetings.
  • Handling difficult situations with tact and diplomacy to maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts.
  • Travelling between work-sites locally and within the region for extended periods and performing other related duties as assigned.
  • Trainer or act as a mentor to junior technologist(s) or staff supporting project work. Review and oversee junior staff completed work reports and testing.

Your Profile:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Earth Sciences, Environmental Technology, or an environmental-related field.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant environmental investigations experience; Environmental drilling, test pitting, excavations; a collection of soil and groundwater samples and testing; Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment(s); subcontractor and program management; technical report writing.
  • Registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO) and/or Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of and/or ability to learn technical laboratory and field-testing procedures required.
  • Working knowledge of both provincial and federal environmental regulations.
  • Strong organization and planning skills; Excellent written and oral communication skills.Valid driver’s license is required, and possession of or eligibility to obtain Security Clearance.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety.
