Job Description
AECOM is looking for an Environmental Engineer for its Mississauga, ON location.. This is a full-timerole.

JOB SUMMARY:

The role will be a combination of project management and technical work delivery, though the work can/may vary based on the applicant’s experience and career aspirations
This position is ideally suited to an environmental engineer with technical and project management strengths. This position will primarily shadow acting project managers as a deputy project manager on large ($100k - $5M project budget) multidisciplinary engineering projects.
Additionally, there are opportunities for candidates who would like to continue to build their technical background to have access to training and careers opportunities if of interest.
This position requires excellent written and spoken communication skills, organizational and time management skills, flexibility to work on a range of projects, and a positive attitude. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and have the ability to work both independently and as a part of a project team.
The successful candidate will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must meet the below requirement, at a very minimum:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental etc.) + six (6) years of related experience within civil, environmental, or geotechnical engineering field.
Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • P.Eng registered
  • Experience with proposal writing, job scoping, project plans
  • Experience working in a team setting to meet timelines and quality management.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite; excellent knowledge of Excel and Word

    Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $120,000.00 - $150,000.00.

Responsibilities:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job responsibilities for the position will include, but will not be limited to:
+ Development of technical solutions as part of a design team, assisting senior staff with the design and evaluation of engineering applications from options assessment to detailed design phases.
+ Preparation, coordination and participation in field programs to collect and analyze outstanding data gaps for design advancement (both office and field duties, though this position is intended to primarily be an office-based role).
+ Preparation of documentation for design projects: technical letters, memorandums, reports, drawing packages, and detailed design packages.
+ Preparing project specifications, contract documents, construction packages, and cost estimates.
+ Performing construction supervision, administration, and monitoring, including contract close out and reporting (both office and field duties).

PROJECT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Technical and quality coordination
  • Proposal and scope change preparation
  • Scope and budget tracking
  • Collaborating and coordinate work with peers from the environment business, peers from other engineering disciplines, clients, contractors, and sub-consultants
