About the role
You will study for a level 6 environmental health practitioner degree apprenticeship over 4 years with University Centre Weston, Weston Super Mare, Somerset.
Approximately 20% of your time will be spent at university preparing for assessments in line with the apprenticeship standards. For the remainder of the time, you will be employed as a student environmental health officer working and training within the public protection team.

The 5 main service areas covered as an apprentice will include:

  • Environmental protection
  • Food safety and infectious disease control
  • Health and safety
  • Private sector housing and public health

On successful completion of this course, you will achieve a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Health. You will then embark on the registered Environmental Health Officer (EHO) pathway to become a fully qualified and competent registered EHO with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).
