SUMMARY

The Environmental Manager ensures the environmental issues of the company and its clients are addressed in order to minimize liability and ensure due diligence. This position oversees the fulfillment of legal and contractual environmental requirements, and manages human and physical resources to reduce loss to Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions and its clients.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • University graduation or professional certification (e.g. P. Eng, CMA, CGA or equivalent courses)
  • More than five years up to ten years of job-related experience
  • Knowledge of building systems and financial controls
  • Good computer skills
  • Adept on Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions Processes (quality processes, tendering process)

    This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $73,599 - $91,998 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage environmental issues nationally on behalf of the client(s)
  • Champion the ISO 14001 registration efforts as the corporate management representative for Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions
  • Develop, implement, train, oversee, evaluate and audit the corporate environmental management program
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, codes of practice, internal standards and guidelines.
  • Develop, implement and maintain corporate policies and procedures
  • Monitor / review impact of new legislation / technologies on Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions processes; recommend and assist with required process changes
  • Provide direction to internal departments on environmental issues and requirements
  • Manage Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator/Officer resources
  • Develop and provide reports to clients and internal executive management on environmental performance and status
  • Conduct internal compliance and system audits, and assist with the implementation of recommended actions; report audit results to management
  • Research, develop and provide environment awareness and promotional programs to all team members at all levels
  • Research, develop and provide training to team members
  • Provided guidance, support and information on environmental legislation, contractual obligations, projects and initiatives across Canada
  • Maintain communication with regulatory agencies and other external organizations
  • Support health and safety and quality programs
  • Manage the corporate environmental budget
  • Other duties as assigned
