Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team, focusing on projects within the downstream oil and gas sector in British Columbia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, exceptional communication skills, and extensive experience in the downstream oil and gas industry. The position is approximately 80% office-based (hybrid or remote work available depending on location), and an expectation of about 20% of the time in the field monitoring the progress of your project and meeting with clients.
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for project management by delivering various projects within the Environmental Services Division. Operating in a diverse and competitive environment, this position will manage projects from start to finish, ensuring safe, effective operations with a client-centred focus. Projects will be completed within required guidelines according to schedule, contract specifications, timelines, and budgets to drive successful outcomes for continued growth and success. Collaboration with others will be vital to keeping open lines of communication and maintaining a high standard of service delivery. The PM will always perform work and ensure adherence to FLINT’s core values and exemplary ethical standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans and executes projects on a small project scale.
  • Communicates with stakeholders.
  • Ensures quality and resolves issues.
  • Maintains project documentation.
  • Manage and prepare work plans, contractor bidding documents, proposal requests, and contractor procurement.
  • Management, control, forecast, and monitor all project costs. Monitor site progress against planned work.
  • Accountability to and follow-up to ensure:
  • Interfaces between different groups contributing to the project are correctly monitored and managed, including the management of subcontractors in the field.
  • All project risks are identified and adequately managed by owning and maintaining the risk register.
  • The correct technical input is incorporated into all technical documentation and is approved by the leadership team (if required).
  • Establish and manage a system of recording, tracking, and progressing all project documentation using the project management software.
  • Liaise with government and regulatory contacts to represent clients in their regulatory applications and submissions.
  • Support the analysis of environmental and regulatory risks and opportunities for new business considerations.
  • Maintain and develop vendor and other professional contacts.
  • Participate in training events, project meetings, and team meetings.
  • Implement corporate and client safety programs.
  • Administrative duties, including claims, invoices, and all other paperwork, are done within timelines.
  • Other projects and assignments as required.
