POSITION DESCRIPTION

HGL is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager with In Situ Thermal Treatment (ISTT) technology experience to join our team, providing proposal and management support in design, oversight, and execution of HGL’s current and upcoming ISTT projects and opportunities. The PM III position requires managing large-scale environmental engineering, remediation and construction projects as lead PM or deputy PM. As an environmental project manager, you will work on construction, waste management, and engineering projects primarily in the government sectors. You’ll conduct office and field activities related to environmental remediation projects and help develop plans, permit applications, and reports.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The person hired for this role will be responsible for:

  • Management of technical and administrative aspects of environmental remediation projects, including projects utilizing ISTT technology.
  • Meeting project scope, schedule, budget requirements.
  • Directing, managing, and leading project teams to meet project objectives in-line with corporate and customer quality expectations.
  • Communicating effectively with clients, regulators, project team members, and company management.
  • Effectively manage project risks and develop mitigation approaches and strategies.
  • Supporting business development efforts, including leading or supporting ISTT and other environmental remediation proposal efforts.
  • Prepare and/or review project documents, specifications, construction plan sets, permits, and reports.
  • Work closely with clients, colleagues, and contractors to ensure construction activities are performed according to engineering plans, industry standards, and applicable environmental regulations.

The ideal candidate will need the following as a foundation for success in this role:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience executing and managing remediation/construction projects under CERCLA and RCRA, including the management of at least two remedial action projects using ISTT technology, preferably for the remediation of chlorinated volatile organic compounds.
  • Oversight of project teams, management of budget, schedule, safety, quality, technical performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • BA/BS in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Geology sciences, preferably with an advanced degree.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and keep organized to ensure timely and accurate work.
  • Ability to build consensus among leadership, internal, and external stakeholders through effective interpersonal communication and relationship building skills.
  • Responsive and reliable; self-motivated to follow through on commitments to colleagues and Clients.
  • Strong writing and communications skills
