JOB DESCRIPTION:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Environmental Project Manager/Scientist or Engineerto join our team! In this role you will get to work closely with a variety of professionals on Contaminated Sites and Infrastructure Projects.
WHAT REQUIRED SKILLS YOU’LL BRING:
- Bachelor’s Degree in earth sciences, environmental/chemical/geological engineering or similar programs
- 5 + years of consulting experience at an engineering firm with strong experience in the applicable federal and provincial environmental laws and regulations within a Canadian (preferably Ontario) jurisdiction
- 2+ years managing contaminated sites projects with consulting values over $100K and/or as a project manager or a technical designer
- Technically strong with advance knowledge of environmental site assessments, excess oil planning and various remediation approaches
- Experience working with diverse multidiscipline and/or international project teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Financially literate from a project management perspective
- Track record of delivering high quality work products

Responsibilities:
THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION WILL INCLUDE PROJECT MANAGEMENT, COORDINATING INVESTIGATIONS AND INVESTIGATIONS, DESIGN AND/OR PREPARING REPORTS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SITE INVESTIGATION (ESA), EXCESS SOIL PLANNING, AND REMEDIATION PROJECTS. SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Provide technical leadership in the design and project management of contaminated sites, remediation and infrastructure projects, including investigations, remediation design and excess soil planning, investigation and management.
- Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments to CSA and O.Reg.153/04 requirements;
- Remedial design and site remediation oversight: including excavations, ISCO, bioremediation, permeable and impermeable barriers, and mechanical technologies (air sparge, pump and treat, dual phase extraction, etc), sediment remediation, mine closures
- Excess soil and waste management on infrastructure projects, contributing to planning and design inputs as per O.Reg. 406/19
- Peer review of technical documents and reports;
- Design support of infrastructure projects (roads/highways, transit, bridges, EAs, sewers/watermains) from a waste/contamination and excess soil perspective
- Support business development activities including proposal preparation on major and minor pursuits;
- Project Management and Coordination:
- ESA and remediation related projects
- Tracking and maintaining budgets and project finances;
- Preparing Reports;
- Maintain client relationships in various industries;
- Liaise and support other engineering disciplines.
- Primary point of contact with clients, junior staff, and other project managers.
