ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Queensland Environment team is currently seeking a mid to Senior level Environmental Scientist (Approvals). As a valued member of our national ecology and environmental services business, you’ll collaborate with industry experts across Approvals, Ecology, Sustainability, Coastal and Acoustics. ROLE DESCRIPTION:

  • Environmental Approvals and Documentation:
    o Prepare comprehensive environmental approvals documentation, including impact assessments and management plans.

o Use your in-depth knowledge of Queensland and Federal environmental legislation, staying abreast of industry standards and approval processes.

  • Technical Expertise:

o Provide environmental input and advice to major projects across the breadth of Stantec’s business sectors.

o Collaborate with integrated project teams to ensure environmentally sound solutions.

  • Effective Communication:

o Craft high-quality technical reports and proposals, adhering to Stantec’s rigorous quality standards.

o Liaise with clients and regulatory bodies to achieve project objectives.

  • Project Excellence:

o Deliver outstanding project outcomes, paying attention to budgets and schedules.

  • Collaboration and Impact:

o Work seamlessly within a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive results for our clients.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL FOR THIS ROLE YOU’LL NEED:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/ Environmental Planning / Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
  • Knowledge and proven experience in relevant legislation and standards, particularly in the Queensland and Federal regulatory environment.
  • Professional standards of technical report writing.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Positive and proactive attitude.
