Description:
Alamos Gold’s Island Gold is one of Canada’s highest grade and lowest cost gold mines. This underground operation is located just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa in Northern Ontario. Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold’s Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality, and Alamos is now investing in a major expansion project which is expected to transform Island into one of the largest and most profitable mines in Canada with an 18-year mine life. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- A relevant degree or diploma in an Environmental field (Science, Earth & Environmental Sciences, EnvironmentalScience/Resource & Sustainability, Engineering or other)
- Working and/or theoretical knowledge of effluent release provincial and federal requirements.
- Experience with Spill Response and Mitigation
- Self-starter who can anticipate needs and work independently
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking, able to manage competing priorities in a fastpaced, growing work environment. The incumbent will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills (oral/writtencommunication and presentation), a strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- The incumbent will demonstrate excellent English oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to speak French will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities:
- Present training material to all employees on environmental policies and procedures. Ensure all new workers receive the proper training so that they can contribute to the site’s environmental performance.
- Interpret water quality data and conduct data entry.
- Respond to environmental emergencies and incidents
- Work independently and as a team member
- Safely operate a variety of equipment such as telehandlers, snowmachines, quads, boats, etc.
- Perform calibration and maintenance on environmental monitoring equipment
