B2Gold is a low-cost international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, a mine under construction in northern Canada and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. B2Gold forecasts total consolidated gold production of between 860,000 and 940,000 ounces in 2024.

DESIRED COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2(Two) – Three (3) years of experience in a relevant field will consider other training and experience deemed equivalent;
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental science, Renewable Resource Management, or related field;
  • Ability to work and adapt in a fast-paced dynamic setting;
  • Experience working at a remote mine or outdoor and industrial setting;
  • Experience with all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, helicopters, boats considered an asset;
  • Ability to work in inclement weather conditions such as extreme cold temperatures, high winds, heavy precipitation;
  • Strong computer skills in data management, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, and communicative and interpersonal skills; and
  • Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) is considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Regularly monitor air, water, soil, and vegetation around mining sites;
  • Collect and analyze soil, tundra, waste pit, and groundwater samples for technical reports;
  • Compile and analyze environmental data to assess mining impacts;
  • Assist with the coordination and implementation of environmental monitoring and baseline programs for assessments and permits;
  • Collaborate with site management to ensure project tasks adhere to environmental best practices;
  • Utilize, maintain, and calibrate field equipment (e.g., water quality meters, flow meters);
  • Maintain detailed field notes and handle various samples (air, water, soil);
  • Work in remote settings under adverse weather conditions for extended periods;
  • Conduct inspections focused on environmental performance and compliance, with progress reporting;
  • Assist subcontractors with field programs and manage equipment calibration;
  • Manage field notes, data entry, and report preparation;
  • Perform tasks efficiently and accurately, adhering to industry standards and regulations; and
  • Develop a thorough understanding of site conditions, regulatory requirements, and management plans.
