STATUS: Full-time, Contract (12 months)
LOCATION: Peterborough, ON

SALARY RANGE: $21-$26/hr (commensurate with experience)
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable environmental science, environmental engineering or related fields preferred.
- College diploma / certificate in environmental science acceptable with the right skillset.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and processes, including but not limited to air quality monitoring, effluent/discharge monitoring, erosion / sediment control and species at risk monitoring.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize evolving project requirements for multiple ongoing projects.
- Able to work in a high-pressure environment with tight delivery deadlines.
- Demonstrated technical writing and critical thinking skills.
- Proven communication and detail-oriented skills.
- Experience in the nuclear and/or construction/remediation-based sector and/or large-scale construction sites considered an asset.
- Works well independently as well as a part of a team.
- Experience working with MS Word, Excel, and all programs under MS Office.
- Eligible for Reliance status security clearance.
- Valid G Class license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills with fluency (reading, writing and oral) in English.
Responsibilities:
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
You will demonstrate your technical knowledge in the field, and work towards implementing practical and effective solutions for clients. Your role will involve conducting field assessments, collecting samples, and supporting Project Leads in the preparation of reports.
JOB DUTIES
- Implementation and application of environmental monitoring field programs, plans, and procedures.
- Understanding of project requirements and relevant technical specifications and their practical uses.
- Application and oversight of environmental plans and procedures in support of environmental protection related to construction and remediation works.
- Technical writing involves monitoring plan and log creation, detail tracking, ensuring conformance with standards, and general reporting and communication.
- Review, summarize, and interpret data to provide conclusions and mitigation recommendations.
- Supports on regulatory audits, including follow-up and reporting.
- Communication and collaboration with additional Cambium field staff associated with the projects.
- Professionally represents the Cambium team on daily activities that involve subcontractors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and other internal and external project participants.
- Coordinates environmental activities with other project operations and participants.
- Advocates and coaches project participants on acceptable Environmental practices.
- Write or review detailed technical documents including spreadsheet calculations.
- Adherence to health and safety protocols for self and support staff, if applicable.
- Field work in all seasons; travel and overtime likely required.
