Witten/Herdecke University, founded 1982, is the first private university in Germany and host to 800 employees and 3000 students.
At the Medical Biometry and Epidemiology group, we invite applications for the position of one Epidemiologist/Statistician (Scientist / Postdoc) (m/f/d). The successful candidate will use original data from national and international studies to determine the associations of (e.g., molecular) risk factors with participants’ risk of developing cognitive impairment. Meta-analyses are also planned.
The position is available from 1st July 2024 on a part-time basis (0.5fte) and is limited initially to 18 months (an extension may be possible).

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the epidemiological research output of a friendly and welcoming, international team. You will be able to substantiate your profile as a researcher, to grow your network and to take qualification steps in your post-doc career. You will also contribute to statistical guidance provided by the research group and will take on occasional teaching responsibilities.

Specific tasks include:

• project planning and management
• (systematic) literature review
• integration of patient data from several sources
• statistical analysis (using R)
• leading on publications in international peer-reviewed journals
• presentation at conferences
• writing of grant applications
• statistical advice to students of the Faculty
• occasional teaching
